Hollow fiber membrane
AQUATOOLS' point-of-use filters are made up of a set of polyethylene hollow fibers grouped together into a unit.
These fibers are extremely fine and flexible, with an exterior diameter of about 0.002 in (0.6mm), and a thickness of several dozen microns.
The fibers are hollow and shaped like a straw or tube.
Microporous structure
The hollow fiber membranes have multiple pores varying in size from 0.01 - 0.1 microns. Each membrane consists of several surfaces with microporous structures (micro slits).
Bacteria and any suspended particles that are larger than 0.1µm are trapped by these structures and permanently retained on the external surface of the membrane.
